The International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports - the abbreviation IAW refers to the original German name Internationale Aktionswaren- und Importmesse - has long made a name for itself as Europe's leading event for ordering impulse-purchase products and trendsetting items. This year the fair will take place for the 27th time. Running from 27 February (Tuesday) to 1 March (Thursday) 2018, this spring edition of the event will be located in Halls 11.1 and 11.2 at the Cologne Exhibition Center (Germany). A total of more than 350 exhibitors from all over the world are expected, including producers, importers and wholesalers.
An additional autumn edition of the IAW takes place every year in September. Most recently they experienced an increase in exhibitors of ten per cent there.
The international exhibitors will come together with approx. 9 000 trade visitors, in particular buyers from the wholesale, retail and online business sectors, according to announcements by the organisers for the February date. A special feature of the IAW is its wide range of products for all retail segments, including toys, garden products, decorative items, gifts, household goods, hardware, cosmetics, food and much more. The trade fair also offers a broad range of items for the private label sector.
Maximum variety at the IAW will be offered not only by the exhibitors, but also by the supporting program. This is because visitors to the spring edition of the event are offered many talks and presentations focusing on current issues in e-commerce and marketing. The speakers invited to the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports are recognized experts in the field, all ready to share their authentic and realistic insights, says the organiser, Nordwestdeutsche Messegesellschaft Bremen-Hannover.
Presentation of the highly regarded IAW Trendseller Product Award will be another highlight, with a jury selecting the best and most promising trend-led products from among all those showcased at the fair.
