Not only painters, plasterers and professionals from the creative construction trades were there - the DIY trade also came, often in large groups. This very satisfied feedback was given by many of the exhibitors interviewed by the diy editorial team at FAF Farbe, Ausbau & Fassade, which took place from 23 to 26 April in Halls 7 and 8 at Koelnmesse.
The FAF trade fair team from the organiser GHM, Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH, also attributes the fact that all participants described the event in the most beautiful colours to the good cooperation with the two supporting associations of the trade fair, the Bundesverband Farbe Gestaltung Bautenschutz and the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade, as well as industry representatives.
The figures are correspondingly positive: 34,000 visitors came to Cologne, 56% of whom were decision-makers. Particularly pleasing: the many young people at the trade fair - something that exhibitors and associations repeatedly emphasised.
Visitors came from 18 countries, and they also rated FAF positively: 87% of visitors would recommend the trade fair to others, just as many visitors were satisfied with their trade fair experience and almost 60% of visitors have already placed orders or plan to place orders after the trade fair.
The 305 exhibitors from 24 countries represented the entire supply chain of the industry: from paints and varnishes, acoustic building materials, coatings, wallpapers, home textiles and floor coverings to interior insulation and dry construction materials - to name but a few. The exhibitors also gave FAF high marks: 93% were satisfied with the professional qualifications and expertise of the visitors at their stand, while 86% of exhibitors thought that their participation in FAF 2024 was successful overall.
And what do they say specifically, the exhibitors and especially those who also sell through DIY stores? For example this: "Participating in FAF in Cologne was a great success for Meffert AG. With its DIY and professional brands on an area of around 900 m², the company was not only able to attract numerous visitors, but also arouse great interest within the industry," says Jens Bayer, head of marketing. And CEO Klaus Meffert emphasises that the trade fair appearance has given the company a new image.
