From time to time, you need a change of scenery. This was also the case with the work “DIY Retailers Worldwide”, which has been published by Dähne Verlag for over 20 years. This was published for the first time in mid-October under the new name “Home Improvement Retailers Worldwide” after a complete update.

“In terms of the wealth of facts about the global industry, this collection of data has always been Dähne Verlag's flagship and is unique worldwide,” explains Michael Greiner, head of the statistics department. A lot has changed with the update. ”Since the last edition a year ago, we have invested a lot of work in developing a modern database in the background and, in doing so, have revised and in some cases expanded all the data collected.”

The revision of the data and the new name were accompanied by a completely new layout. In total, the Home Improvement Retailers Worldwide data collection now covers 412 individual retail lines in Europe and 238 worldwide or outside Europe and is presented on 818 pages. Each of the data sheets contains the contact details of the head office of the sales line, the group affiliation, the economic values for the years 2021 to 2023, background information and a list of the international distribution of the individual sales line and its complete group links. In addition, there is an overview of all the distribution channels covered for each of the 93 countries. “Our data collection is sure to be very interesting for anyone who wants to get an overview of the global market, is looking for specific information or is searching for new retail partners,” says Greiner.

Whether in Europe or South America, the new data collection offers worldwide orientation. Here is an example of Easy in Argentina.

Greiner emphasizes that the completely revised list of management functions should be highlighted in the new edition. With 1,362 entries, it has not only more than doubled in size compared to before, but it also contains information on the month in which each entry was last updated.

“We are particularly proud of the revised management entries. Not only does this show the benefits of the new database, but a colleague has also invested several months of work to rebuild all the entries from scratch. The result is impressive,” explains Greiner. At the same time, the team…
