Kingfisher Asia Limited (KAL), the Asian purchasing subsidiary of the Kingfisher Group, intends to increase its turnover during the current financial year by 27 per cent over the previous year to a new total of € 640 mio. The group explains this by the high, two-figure level of savings to be achieved by doing so. B&Q alone ordered goods to the value of € 193 mio from KAL over the last financial year. At present Asian-sourced products at B&Q account for a six per cent share in terms of value. This figure is only one per cent for the Castorama Group, according to a report in the July issue of diy-Branchenmagazin.
