The German provider of logistics services, Fiege ebl, is now actively applying its concept for live plant logistics in Austria as well. In March the company, which belongs to the Fiege group, started operating its first international transhipment points in Vienna and Graz. Supplies of live plants are delivered in a 24-hour service from these bases to garden centres and DIY stores, with Obi the company’s most important customer. Local distribution is undertaken by the haulage company Petschl of Perg. One more logistics centre is to become operative at Ebbs in Tyrol on 1 July.
