Healthy increase in the Netherlands

25.08.2003

The DIY market overall saw three per cent growth in 2002. The DIY stores did even better

Last year the DIY stores in the Netherlands increased their sales by almost five per cent, it emerges from a survey by GfK Benelux. In contrast to this, the hardware dealers and small-format neighbourhood stores were on the losing side. The only other retailers able to record any increase were the paint and wallpaper dealers. The DIY market grew by 3.2 per cent overall.
A detailed report on the DIY market in the Netherlands is published in the current issue of DIY in Europe, No. 7-8/2003. You can also find further data pertinent to the report in the Trade topics section of DIYglobal plus (v. Other articles on this topic).
