Withdrawal from Klagenfurt

Praktiker is closing its store in Klagenfurt, Austria, on 31 December 2003. So far the German number two has had a five-store presence in Austria. The outlet in the Südpark Centre has been in operation since 1998. A statement from the company says that the reason for this decision is to be found not only in the unsatisfactory economic situation of the store, but also in a change to the retail structure that is looming over the town.
