The British company sees no hope of competing against cheap imports from the Far East

The British company, Magnet, has stopped manufacturing doors at its Keighley factory. The strength of sterling and the competition from the Far East have made the production of doors increasingly unsustainable, according to a statement from the company. In future, production in Keighley will concentrate on windows instead of doors. Magnet has 1 700 employees in the UK and is part of the Swedish Nobia Group, which is said to be one of Europe’s leading kitchen companies.
