500th store opens

On Monday 28 February 2005 Obi opened its 500th DIY store in Pocking (Bavaria). A further 35 stores are to be opened worldwide by the end of 2006, according to the company, with expansion plans focusing on China and Russia. Obi’s declared aim is to become the market leader in every country in which it is represented.
