More signs of growth from the Spanish DIY market. Thus, the DIY store chains who are united in the ADFB trade association, Leroy Merlin, Akí (both Groupe Adeo), Bricoking and ATB, report growth in sales of 7.5 per cent in the second quarter. This results in an increase of 7.8 per cent for the first half of the year.
According to the association, sales in the quarter were below expectations, due to bad weather causing the garden season to start later. However the growth rate was still higher than the comparative period in 2015 when the increase was at six per cent. The ADFB is expecting a growth of nine per cent for the whole of 2016. A like-for-like increase to 2015 is stated by the ADFB as seven per cent.
