The Spanish subsidiary of Leroy Merlin has expanded its online shop into an online marketplace. After France and Italy, Leroy Merlin Spain is the third national subsidiary of the French DIY chain in Europe to take this step. Brazil and South Africa also already have such a marketplace.
At the start of December, around 150 sellers with 150 000 products were represented on leroymerlin.es According to the company, the website is the fifth most visited online shop in Spain with more than 21 mio visitors per month. Leroy Merlin Spain has set up its own team for this purpose, currently with twelve employees led by Pablo des Busto, which is expected to grow over the coming year. The idea is that "sellers can sell their products internationally on all of the company's marketplaces and have access to Leroy Merlin's comprehensive omnichannel offer, which is complemented by 130 physical points of sale". The company also wants to increase the number of sellers.
