The new head of Lowe's, the world's second-biggest home improvement chain, is Marvin R. Ellison. He has been named president and CEO with effect from 2 July 2018. He will also join Lowe's board of directors at that time. Ellison succeeds Robert A. Niblock, who previously announced his intention to retire.
Ellison is joining Lowe's from department store chain J. C. Penney, but has extensive DIY store experience. For twelve of the 30 years of his career he worked for global market leader Home Depot, including a spell as executive vice-president of US stores with responsibility for both DIY and trade business.
