Total number of DIY stores in Italy increases by eleven

The number of DIY stores in Italy increased in the first six months of year to 768. Following 24 new openings and 13 closures, this adds eleven stores or 1.45 per cent to the total compared with the end of 2018 (757). The retail area increased by 1.8 per cent to 2.133 mio m². Growth in the average retail area was stronger, namely 5.1 per cent, and this is now 3.214 m². The figures derive from the GDS Report, which is published by the Italian online service DIY and Garden (www.diyandgarden.com).
