In the first quarter, Swiss DIY stores suffered a double-digit decline compared with the same period last year. Sales of CHF 799.2 mio (EUR 766.66 mio) were 10.8 percent below the corresponding figure for the previous year. However, sales were particularly high the year before after previous lockdowns, according to the German industry association BHB, which published these figures. Garden furniture was the range that was down the most at -25.9 per cent, ahead of paints/painting accessories at -22.1 per cent.
