The DIY chain Praxis, which is part of the Maxeda DIY Group, has opened the first climate-neutral DIY store in the Netherlands, located in Almere Haven. Among other things, the building has a heat pump and solar panels that generate more energy than it consumes, along with LED lighting coupled to motion sensors. The previous building was demolished and replaced by the new one. As a result, the sales area has increased from 2 581 m² to 3 399 m².
In Almere Haven, Praxis has now implemented its Phygital concept, which combines a physical shop with digital extensions. Digital tools such as configurators for doors, cabinets and window decorations are available.
