The British DIY chain Wickes has increased its sales by 1.8 per cent to GBP
1.5624 billion in the past year. Like-for-like sales increased by 3.5 per cent compared with the previous year and by 22.8 per cent in a three-year comparison.
Core like-for-like revenue declined by 2.0 per cent, with the second half stronger as comparatives eased and as sales of energy-saving products helped the DIY category towards the end of the year, according to the retailer.
However, the company mentions a strong recovery in DIFM delivered sales which were up by 26.1 per cent. "During the year we continued to prioritise our price leadership by working closely with our suppliers," the annual report says. "We remained committed to managing supply chain inflation responsibly and our selling price inflation has been significantly less than our cost price inflation."
