Health reasons have forced Philippe Zimmermann (52) to step down as CEO of the Adeo Group - Thomas Bouret (51) has been appointed as his successor with the support of shareholder AFM. According to a press release from the group of companies, he will succeed Philippe Zimmermann as CEO of the Adeo Group on 1 January 2024. However, Philippe Zimmermann will take over the chairmanship of all companies in France (Leroy Merlin, Weldom, Saint Maclou, Kbane, Quotatis and Bricoman). Adeo claims to be the market leader in Europe and the third largest player in the DIY market worldwide with over 1,000 shops and a turnover of 37.8 billion euros in 2022.
Thomas Bouret started as Regional Manager at Leroy Merlin in Le Mans in 1997 and worked for the company in Brazil, Italy and France, where he took over as Managing Director in 2014. In 2023, he joined Adeo as Global Leader Ecosystem and Business Development. As Managing Director, Bouret has already contributed to the development of Adeo's strategy and will continue to lead the project, which is based on a human culture and customers, on an efficient structure that combines the local and the global, and on a strategy based on the three business areas of retail, omnichannel and platform.
Philippe Zimmermann has been CEO of Adeo since 2017. He began his career in retail in 1993 at Leroy Merlin. "His great understanding of customers and his leadership skills, based on putting people at the centre, led Philippe to become CEO of Leroy Merlin France from 2007 to 2014," his CV states. Since 2017, he has been CEO of Adeo and has led the development of the goal "We make Home a positive place to live".
