The Swedish retail chain Clas Ohlson, which reported an 8 per cent increase in sales in the first six months of its 2023/24 financial year (May to Ocotober), with turnover of SEK 4.653 bn (EUR 397 mio), has also reported substantial growth in its e-commerce business. Online sales increased by 12 per cent to SEK 550 mio. (EUR 48.5 mio) in the first quarter, and by 15 per cent to SEK 298 mio. (EUR 26.1 mio.) in the second quarter.
"We have launched many new products exclusively in our online channel and we are continuing to fine-tune our logistics to handle larger volumes and increased demand for rapid deliveries,” comments CEO Kristofer Tonström.
The company has also set its sights on ten new store openings in the current financial year. Tonström says they will achieve these. In addition, four contracts have been signed for the next financial year.
