The Edra/Ghin Scope 3 Task Force, which was launched last year, will be one of the main topics at this year's Global DIY Summit, which will take place in Rome from 11 to 13 June. As the international DIY association writes, an entire hour will be dedicated to the topic and a Scope 3 strategy and roadmap for the global DIY sector will be presented.
Scope 3, which includes all indirect emissions generated by an organisation's upstream and downstream activities, is one of the most pressing issues worldwide. "Climate change is an undeniable fact, and there is growing pressure from governments, investors and consumers to offer certified targets for decarbonisation," the association explains the priority of the topic.
"In addition, we are pleased to announce that we will have a Scope 3 stand in the networking area where our selected global experts, the consultancy firm Ricardo, members of our Edra/Ghin taskforce and the Edra/Ghin director of CSR will be on hand to answer any questions our delegates may have on Scope 3 and decarbonisation," it continues. The association, with its 229 members from 70 countries, is "in an ideal position to drive change and significantly reduce carbon emissions in our trade sector by working with our suppliers. We owe this to future generations."
