Wickes Group starts the first quarter of 2024 with a loss

In the first quarter of the current year, the British Wickes Group generated 4.2 per cent less turnover than in the same period in 2023. According to the company, retail sales increased by 0.6 per cent, while DIY sales declined slightly overall. Sales in the Design & Installation segment fell by 18.2 per cent, although the company refers to a particularly strong comparative period in the previous year." Customers continue to be enthusiastic about home improvement but are focusing on smaller projects," says the company.

A strong increase in sales was achieved in the affordable lifestyle kitchen range with a plus of 25 per cent.
