The British DIY group Kingfisher fell short of the previous year's sales in the 2024/2025 financial year (ending 31 January 2025). Total sales fell by 1.5 per cent to GBP 12.784 bn (EUR 15.3 bn); adjusted for currency effects, the decline was 0.8 per cent, while like-for-like sales fell by 1.7 per cent.

For the individual countries in which Kingfisher is active, the company only reports the like-for-like rates of change in a preliminary statement. According to this, sales in the UK and Ireland were just about maintained with an increase of 0.2 per cent. This was due to the Screwfix sales division, which grew by 1.0 per cent. The DIY store sales division B&Q lost 0.4 per cent of its turnover.

Kingfisher recorded a massive decline of 6.2 per cent in France. With a drop of 6.6 per cent, the Castorama sales division lost even more than Brico Dépôt with -5.7 per cent. However, this is still…
