Bauhaus, the second-largest German DIY store operator and market leader in Germany, is currently investing heavily in its home base in Mannheim in south-west Germany. A week ago, the company opened its new flagship store in the city. The 19 000 m² location sets a strong accent with its striking façade. A new feature is a modern concept for the garden department, which Bauhaus is trialling here for the first time.

The company is also expanding its operational headquarters, the Service Centre Germany, with an investment of EUR 70 mio and has now inaugurated an extension to the "Bauhaus Campus". A new building has been added to the existing high-rise building from 2007, now offering space for 1 500 employees. The parent company Interbauhaus AG is still based in Belp, Switzerland.
