According to the half-yearly report of British company Travis Perkins, its trade-orientated sales channel Toolstation plans to withdraw from France by the end of 2024. The company had spoken previously of a "potential plan to exit the French business" and had already published an announcement to this effect in March. However, the plan is "subject to consultation procedures with the relevant employee representatives", and this situation is reportedly "still ongoing". The trade magazine Zepros has also reported on Toolstation's imminent withdrawal from France.
There are currently 51 Toolstation stores in France. They made a loss of GBP 8 million (around EUR 9 million) in the first half of the year. Overall, the Toolstation sales division achieved turnover of GBP 420 million (EUR 490 million) from January to June. This is an increase of 2.4 per cent compared with the same period last year…
