After almost three decades, the partnership between the Kawan Lama Group and American home improvement giant Ace Hardware International Holdings Ltd. - which allowed the latter's eponymous stores to operate in Indonesia - will come to an end, the company that owns the rights to the US-brand in the country confirmed.
In a statement, Ace Hardware licensee PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk (AHI) validated a DIY International report on the impending split, stating that its outlets would only be carrying the brand in Indonesia until 31 December 2024, when its agreement with Ace Hardware International lapses. AHI, which formerly used the trade name PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk, has held the license for Ace Hardware in the Southeast Asian economy since 1995.
