The global DIY market reached a volume of EUR 666.9 bn last year. Edra Managing Director John Herbert presented the latest figures from the Home Improvement Report Retail Worldwide 2024 at the 4th Virtual DIY-Summit today, 27 September 2024. The trade and manufacturer associations Edra/Ghin and Hima publish the report together with the publishing house Dähne Verlag; the current issue will be published in October. Compared to the previous year, global sales have fallen by 3.9 per cent. However, they are still well above the 2019 level, when the industry generated sales of EUR 510.2 bn.
With a DIY market volume of around EUR 308.7 bn, North America is the largest of five regions. It is followed by Asia/Pacific with EUR 193.0 bn and Europe with EUR 147.5 bn.
