The German DIY retail group Obi has started to make its digital platform and app ‘Hey Obi’ available for its foreign markets. After Poland, the platform has now also been launched in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. ‘Hey Obi’ was launched in Germany and Austria in 2020.

Obi now reports more than seven million active accounts and a measurable increase in sales in the cross-channel business. In Poland, ‘Hey Obi’ has gained more than 150,000 new user accounts since its launch in June 2024.

Max Backhaus, head of CRM at Obi, explained the current status at the 4th Virtual DIY Summit. The app helps ‘to understand the needs of our customers much better and therefore to be able to empower them much better for their projects’.
