Spanish manufacturers in the DIY and garden market have significantly increased their sales in the third quarter. Their association AFEB reports an increase of 12.54 per cent compared to the same period last year. It is striking that only two out of six market segments did not achieve double-digit growth: Sales to traditional retailers (4.45 per cent) and to commercial buyers and professional-oriented specialist distributors.
What is also striking is that by far the largest growth of 27.35 per cent was achieved via the online sales channel. The industry sold 20.48 per cent more to DIY stores (which are listed as specialised retailers in the AFEB statistics). Sales to generalists rose by 16.77 per cent, while export sales increased by 11.74 per cent.
