DCM Holdings has announced its financial results for the third quarter (consolidated, from 1 March to 30 November 2024). Therefore, sales increased by 15.6 per cent year-on-year to JPY 416.9 billion (Japanese yen, EUR 2.6 bn), while operating profit increased by 17.9 per cent to JPY 27.8 billion (EUR 173.3 mio) and ordinary profit by 13.3 per cent to JPY 25.8 billion (EUR 160.8 mio). In terms of product lines, sales rose by 21.7 per cent to JPY 64.9 billion (EUR 404.6 mio) in the garden segment, and by 16.6 per cent to JPY 81.5 billion (EUR 508.2 mio) in the DIY segment.

In the first three quarters of the fiscal year, sales of disaster prevention products rose strongly due to the release of specialised information on the Nankai Trough earthquake and the effects of typhoons, despite the effects of unseasonal weather such as the record-breaking heat wave and prolonged summer heat, according to the report. In addition, sales of crime prevention products also performed well due to increased awareness of crime prevention, the company stated.

For DCM brand products, the company said it was affected by factors such as rising material prices, higher procurement costs due to the depreciation of the yen and higher distribution costs. However, the development of environmentally friendly products, the launch of new energy-saving and money-saving products and the strengthening of sales promotion activities have been successful, as per the DCM.

In addition, DCM acquired Keiyo, which became a wholly owned subsidiary. This also contributed to the improvement in the consolidated business results for the third quarter.
