The 41st International Plant Fair (IPM) in Essen started yesterday with a well-attended but not overcrowded day. Until Friday, more than 1,400 exhibitors from around 50 countries will be presenting their products from the fields of plants, technology, floristry and equipment. Representatives from business, associations and politics took part in the opening ceremony, and Hendrik Wüst, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, also spoke with a video message. Speakers at the event included ZVG President Eva Kähler-Theuerkauf and NRW Minister of Agriculture Silke Gorißen.

At the beginning of the second day, long queues had already formed at the entrance to the exhibition halls. Today's highlights of the fair include an interview between VDG President Martina Mensing-Meckelburg and Judith Rakers at 1.30 pm. The interview will take place at the VDG stand in the Galeria (GA-23).
