Cencosud founder Horst Paulmann has passed away

Horst Paulmann, the founder of the Chilean retail group Cencosud, has passed away. He died today, 11 March 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Kassel, Germany, Horst Paulmann started out more than 60 years ago with a small shop in Temuco and later built up one of the largest retail groups in South America. The company has placed condolence lists in all stores of the Jumbo supermarket chain. Cencosud is active in the home improvement sector with its Easy sales line.
