DIY sales in the USA fall by 5.8 per cent in February

Sales at DIY stores and builders' merchants in the USA turned negative in February. The U.S. Census Bureau reported industry sales (industry code NAICS 444) of USD 31.859 billion (EUR 29.236 billion) for the month, which is 5.8 per cent less than in February 2024. In January, sales of USD 33.097 billion (EUR 30.362 billion) were still 0.9 per cent higher than the corresponding figure for the previous year. For the first two months of the current year, sales fell by 2.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.
