Featuring among the new products are glass borders in a mosaic pattern. These new glass borders were developed by a new manufacturing process, which removes all flaws and unevenness from the material and allows for the production of all the fashionable colours under the sun. In the ceramic segment, for instance, Bärwolf offers a new open-ended concept in trendy and timeless colours under the name of “City”.
It is available in a matt or glossy platinum finish. In addition to the all-over porcelain designs, an elegant effect is achieved by the combination of porcelain borders with imitation slate, which takes the shape of interchangeable inserts. A combination based on metal tracks opens up new creative ideas for borders. An almost infinite number of inserts can be fitted into the variable metal tracks and fixed in place with silicone. This procedure also makes it possible to change the borders at a later date. The Bärwolf company of Herne was founded by Eugen Bärwolf in 1985 as a straight commercial agency. From these modest beginnings in a basement office the company developed rapidly into an international business that is today in a position to offer around 600 customers in twelve countries 1 000 different types of borders. With a workforce of 40, the company is represented in almost all the countries of Europe and also has a subsidiary in France. Bärwolf is capable of supplying stores in the respective export countries within 48 hours even without a warehouse of its own. The company has for years been involved in the field of training, over and above the actual work of a commercial agency. What is more, it offers its trading partners sales and display aids in a variety of different formats, such as the upgraded border displays with the products arranged horizontally. As sales manager Detlef Stobbe explains, “We present the borders exactly as they will look later on after laying. This gives the customer an attractive and realistic representation of border design.”
