For years now the German economy has been setting records as the world champion in terms of exports. Meffert AG Farbwerke AG of Bad Kreuznach is one of the companies contributing to this success: a major part of the Meffert Group’s sales comes from the international business that the company has been paying particular attention to for the past 25 years.
Since 1989, the year of political changes and reunification, the company management has been consistently utilizing the opportunities that have arisen in eastern Europe, as well as in the EU and Asian markets. The Meffert Group meanwhile has ten production facilities and ten distribution locations with their own warehousing and delivery logistics both at home and abroad. When opening up new markets the company relies on local business leaders or partners who are familiar with the mentality and special business conditions in their particular country.
The company is convinced that DIY chains and other trading partners looking to get a foothold in new markets also profit from its experience and knowledge lead. To take Moscow as an example: Düfa now undisputedly occupies the top spot here as the best-known brand of paint from abroad.
Mooreover, Meffert products sold in China are clearly identified as German-sourced, since the Chinese attach extreme importance to quality imports from the west. Here the “Made in Germany” and “Blue Angel” labels are seen as valued symbols of environmental compatibility and healthy living and are indispensable in China. A winner on the Chinese market is “Königsweiss” (royal white) paint, a name that is reinforced by the illustration of a typically romantic German castle.
Meffert AG’s brands are meanwhile enjoying success in more than 60 countries in Europe and Asia. The locations for the production and distribution facilities were deliberately allocated to the most important markets. This is because short and consequently rapid distribution routes improve efficiency and enhance the value creation. The multiplicity of brands and the extensive range of products from the Meffert Group cover all requirements and price categories, from simple to use products for DIYers to top-quality materials for professionals.
