Kingfisher’s DIY business records growth of 17 per cent for the first quarter of 2003

In the group’s latest quarterly results for the 13 weeks ended 3 May 2003, Kingfisher reports sales up throughout the DIY retail division, resulting in overall like-for-like growth of 6.5 per cent. The change amounts to 7.1 per cent for operations in the United Kingdom. Altogether the group recorded sales of £ 1.8724 bn (€ 2.5997 bn) in the home improvement area, which amounts to an increase of 17 per cent on the same period in 2002. The French retail format Brico Dépôt, Castorama Italy and B&Q China also announce double-digit growth on a like-for-like basis.
