The German building materials and DIY store cooperative Hagebau has parted ways with its boss. CEO Jan Buck-Emden has left the company, according to a press release. “We have jointly and in complete agreement come to the conclusion that now is a good time to make a personnel change at the top of the Hagebau management,” Robert Grieshofer, chairman of the supervisory board, is quoted in the press release. Jan Buck-Emden has been CEO since 2017.

Hagebau is the fourth largest German DIY store group with retail sales of EUR 3.246 bn in 2023. The larger business area is the trade in building materials. Here, Hagebau is ranked second in Germany.

The main retail sales line is called Hagebaumarkt. The company is also active in Austria and Switzerland, where Coop is a shareholder of Hagebau with its Jumbo DIY stores.
