Enlargement of board

Sears has now expanded its board of directors to encompass eleven members, with the most recent appointment being that of William L. Bax, 59. Mr Bax was managing partner of the Chicago branch of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the accounting and consultant firm, until 30 June 2003.
