Founding of Spanish DIY trade association

The Asociación de distribuidores de bricolage y ferretería, the Spanish DIY trade association, was officially founded on 24 March 2004. Its founding members include ATB, Bricoking, the Agrupación Nacional de Cooperativas Ferreteros (Ancofe), Niero Corporación General, Cooperativa Industrial de Ferreters Catalonia (Cifec), Bricogroup, Ehlis, Ferretería La Paz, Centro Maderero del Bricolage (CMB) and Central de Compras y Servicios Profesionales (Cecofersa). The association is based in Madrid. Alfredo Díaz of Grupo Nireo was elected to the position of president, Jose Maria Mera (CMB) is secretary-general, and Balbino Menéndez (Cecofersa) is the association’s treasurer.
