EDRA (the European DIY Retail Association) has chosen a new leadership. The board, which is elected by the members, includes representatives from eight countries. Elected on the German side are Manfred Maus of Obi and Werner Diehl of the Distributa group. Claude Bombe de Villiers of BHV and Pascal Malfoy of Leroy Merlin are taking up their work on an international level for the French retail association FMB. Other elected members of the body are Jim Lowe of Focus Wickes, UK, Martin Essl of Baumax, Austria, Francisco López, ADFB (Asociación de Distribuidores de Ferretería y Bricolaje) of Spain, Ray Colman of Woodie’s DIY, Ireland, Michael Christiansen of Silvan Kæden of Denmark and Carl-Otto Løvenskiold of Løvenskiold-Vækerø, Norway. Manfred Maus was unanimously nominated to the position of president. The re-election coincided with an expansion of the board as a whole, since three new members (Løvenskiold-Vækarø, Woodie’s DIY and ADFB) have joined since the inaugural meeting in April 2002. This means that trading companies from twelve different countries now belong to EDRA.
