Bauhaus sales show strongest growth abroad

Bauhaus, the number two home improvement retailer in Germany, increased its sales at home and abroad by 1.4 per cent to 4.53 bn euros last year. Sales in its foreign DIY stores increased by 2.3 per cent to 2.7 bn euros, showing much stronger growth than in Germany, where sales rose by just 0.8 per cent to 3.68 bn euros. The company's profitability per unit area of 1 987 euros/m2 put it in third place among German home improvement retailers.
