New chain Homelux on the starting lines in Romania

In Romania the market launch of a new home improvement trader is pending. The new chain is called Homelux. Behind it is Omer Susli from Turkey who initially took over the Praktiker stores in the country and sold them to Kingfisher last year. The focus of the assortment is said to lie on home and decoration products.
According to information from the Romanian industry service Bricoretail.ro, the first two stores are expected to be launched in Ploiesti with 10 000 m² retail space and in Focsani with 6 500 m². These could be the formerly purchased Praktiker locations, as these locations are among those whose closure has been announced by Kingfisher. At the same time, according to media reports, an online shop is said to be opening.
