Swedish home improvement group Byggmax has reported a strong third-quarter performance, with group sales increasing by 21.4 per cent to SEK 2.200 bn (EUR 212 mio). The group achieved almost double this growth rate in its e-commerce operation. Here "order online, pick up in store" grew twice as fast as home delivery, the company stated in its quarterly report. The group's currency-adjusted like-for-like sales increased by 20.4 per cent calculated in local currency.
The strongest sales month of the quarter was July. An important reason cited by Byggmax for the generally satisfactory trend was that the "stay at home" effect had persisted, although not as strongly as in April and May.
Aggregate sales in the first three quarters thus rose by 28.9 per cent to SEK 5.579 bn (EUR 538 mio).
