Byggmax has announced plans to open its first store under its own brand in Denmark in the summer of 2022. The Swedish DIY store operator's planned opening follows its acquisition last year of Næstved Lavpristræ, a Danish owner-operated low-price DIY store with four shops in Zealand and a large e-commerce business. According to Byggmax, the store being built in the city of Vejle will be the first under the Byggmax brand and will represent a Danish version of the latest and greatest shop format.
According to Mattias Ankarberg, CEO of Byggmax, this is an important step for the expansion investment in Denmark. The shop will open behind the Bilka shopping centre. The store area will measure approx. 2 500 m² including drive-in and will be located on an overall site of approx. 10 000 m².
