Spanish tile manufacturers achieve 24.6 per cent increase in sales

The total sales of Spanish tile manufacturers increased last year to around EUR 3.7 bn compared with 2020. This is a growth of 24.6 per cent. These figures have been published by Tile of Spain, a brand in the Association of Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers ASCER, which aims to make the Spanish ceramic tile industry and its producers visible.

Germany is ranked place 6 globally in the international comparison of the tile export countries and is thus still an important target market for Spanish wall and floor coverings: in total, Spanish manufacturers sold tiles there worth EUR 130.6 mio, an increase of 7.5 per cent. With sales up 23.9 per cent, the USA is the leader ahead of France (+ 17.9 per cent) and Great Britain (+ 18.1 per cent). Israel made a jump to place 4 with a rise of 67.4 per cent. Sales in Austria grew by 12.9 per cent.

The number of exported square metres of Spanish tiles worldwide rose by 17.3 per cent compared with the same period last year, to a total of 495 mio m².
