Big-box specialist Bauhaus plans neighbourhood store

Bauhaus is opening a neighbourhood store in Berlin in a fortnight. The new store has a sales area of around 2 000 m² and is located in an inner-city shopping centre. This is considered an unusual move for Bauhaus, which is a pronounced big-box specialist. Its 280 locations across Europe have an average sales area of more than 12 000 m².

The opening in Berlin is scheduled for 21 October 2021. Its assortment focuses on product groups typical of city centre areas, as well as on essentials for renovating one- to four-room flats, which are common in urban zones, according to the company. A garden section and a small department for wood and building materials are also included. Two cargo bikes are available to rent for transporting goods.
