In the first six months of 2024, sales of the British Wickes Group decreased by 3.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2023. Retail sales were sales up 0.6 per cent, the growth was driven by volume, according to the company. “DIY sales remain in moderate decline as customers continue to focus on smaller projects,” the company noted. Sales in the Design & Installation segment decreased by 18.3 per cent, as challenging market conditions have continued.

“Our ongoing strategic focus on our lower-priced Wickes Lifestyle Kitchens continues to deliver good results, with sales up 18.8 per cent year-on-year in H1,” the company says.  

Within the half year, Wickes opened two new stores, in Long Eaton and Durham. The other stores have been refitted.

Wickes has acquired Solar Fast, a solar panel installer, in May and started to roll out POS assets in 50 stores and on their website. The company…
