The German garden market defied the difficult conditions in the overall economy in 2024 and recorded an increase of 1.3 per cent to a sales volume of EUR 19.9 bn. This is the conclusion reached by German DIY and garden market expert Klaus Peter Teipel, who presented the figures today at an event organised by the German garden manufacturers' association IVG. The garden market performed particularly well compared to other sectors, he said.
However, Teipel explained that there is no economic recovery in sight for 2025, citing the forecasts of various economic research institutes. But: “In 2025, I see a growth rate for the garden market of between 0.4 and 2.3 per cent.”
