Screwfix, a UK based retailer owned by Kingfisher, opened its newest store format: Screwfix City. Following initial tests of the ultra-compact stores, Screwfix has recently opened a further six City stores across London, including in Islington, Camden, Dulwich and more, as the company reports.
The Screwfix City stores are based in high footfall areas and will provide the essential products customers need to get their jobs done, as the company stated. City stores offer a range of more than 3,000 essential products via Click and Collect with a further 31,000 available online for next day collection. The delivery service Screwfix Sprint is also available from City stores and the retailer is also seeing a demand from customers utilising the award-winning service from these locations too.
“Our Screwfix City stores are enabling us to go even further to meet the needs of our customers. We know how busy our customers are, and we understand the challenges they face in cities, such as getting a parking space on the job or having to down tools for an emergency product only to spend time stuck in traffic,” Max Britten, Screwfix UK and ROI Managing Director said.
Screwfix plans to have up to 20 City stores in total by the end of 2024, including the first stores in cities outside of London, and aims to open up to 100 locations over the next few years.
