Cashbuild, Southern Africa’s leading retailer of building materials and associated products, reported its financial results for the last six-month-period, which ended on 29 December 2024. As the company reports, revenue increased by 5 per cent to ZAR 6.093 bn (South African Rand, approx. EUR 310 mio). Revenue for stores in existence prior to July 2023 (pre-existing stores: 309) increased by 4 per cent and nine new stores contributed 1 per cent to the total revenue. Gross profit remained at similar levels while gross profit margin percentage decreased from 24.7 per cent to 24.3 per cent.  

During the period, the Group opened three new stores, closed seven under-performing stores, refurbished 14 stores and relocated one store. Cashbuild will continue its store expansion, relocation, and refurbishment strategy in a controlled manner, through its feasibility process, the company reports. The…
