The Bau trade fair, which took place in Munich (Germany) last week, has greatly increased its share of internationality. For the first time, 80 000 of the over 250 000 visitors came from abroad. The trade fair for architecture, materials and systems takes place every two years. In 2015, 72 000 foreign visitors were counted.
Once again, three countries from outside the EU were in the top 10 of foreign market visitors: Turkey (3 055 visitors / 2015: 3 716) and Russia (2 868 / 2015: 2 500). The number of Chinese visitors, which was very high anyway, went up once again (2 235 visitors / 2015: 2 096). This means China goes up in the top 10 ranking.
The leading positions in the visitor ranking are once again held by the neighbouring countries Austria (11 520 visitors), Switzerland (5 243) and Italy (5 013).
The next Bau trade fair will take place from 14 to 19 January 2019 with two new halls. Which means the exhibition space will then be increased to 200 000 m².
