Gross sales of goods in German e-commerce rose again last year for the first time since 2021, reaching EUR 80.6 bn; this corresponds to a growth of 1.1 per cent. The DIY and flowers product group saw significantly stronger growth: Their e-commerce sales rose by 4.8 per cent to EUR 2.901 bn in 2024. These figures were published by the German E-Commerce and Mail Order Association (BEVH).
Neighbouring product groups performed similarly well: Household goods and appliances increased by 4.5 per cent to EUR 6.867 bn, household and home textiles by 3.3 per cent to EUR 1.665 bn. Furniture, lamps and decoration grew by 1.2 per cent to EUR 5.417 bn, while hobby and leisure articles increased by 1.0 per cent to EUR 3.507 bn.
As before, pet supplies proved to be a very stable segment: online sales rose by 5.4 per cent to EUR 1.877 bn.
